{"id":8738,"date":"2019-03-20T09:29:46","date_gmt":"2019-03-20T08:29:46","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.fasep.it\/news\/nocontact-sales-guide\/"},"modified":"2025-04-17T09:37:20","modified_gmt":"2025-04-17T07:37:20","slug":"nocontact-sales-guide","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.fasep.it\/en\/news\/nocontact-sales-guide\/","title":{"rendered":"NoContact Sales Guide"},"content":{"rendered":"This is a <b>Sales Guide<\/b> to point out the <b>ADVANTAGES of the FASEP Wheel Alignment System<\/b>.\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-55220 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fasep.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Unorganized\/NoContactcompleto3-1030x636.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"1030\" height=\"636\" \/>\r\n\r\n<strong>FAQ NoContact<\/strong>\r\n<ol>\r\n \t<li><strong>Can NoContact work on a 4 posts lifter?<\/strong>\r\nYes, NoContact can work on any type of platform lifter.\r\nIt is advisable to carry out the alignment on a lifter with turntables and rear slipping tables.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Can NoContact work on a pit?<\/strong>\r\nNo, NoContact cannot be installed in a pit because the cameras measure from a height of approximately 30 cm.\r\nFor this case, the specific pit model would be needed which is currently not available.\r\n<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>How much space is required for the installation of NoContact?<\/strong>\r\nThe space required is 90cm on either side of the lifter for the installation of the rails.\r\nClick here <a href=\"http:\/\/support.fasep.it\/kb\/index.php?_m=knowledgebase&amp;_a=viewarticle&amp;kbarticleid=1075\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">for more info<\/a>.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><b>Which are the differences between NoContact and R.E.M.O.?<\/b>\r\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-55226 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fasep.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Unorganized\/nocontactscreen2-300x169.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"169\" \/> <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-55232 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.fasep.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/Unorganized\/remoscreen1-300x184.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"184\" \/>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><b>STICKERS (NoContact) vs LASER (Remo):<\/b>\r\nThe FASEP system uses adhesive &#8220;stickers&#8221;.\r\nStickers are important to identify accurately the WHEEL BASE (angles and distance from the camera = Toe \/ Camber and Wheelbase \/ F+R tracks).\r\n\r\nThe two NoContact cameras perform the following operations:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>compensate for tolerance in the application of adhesives<\/li>\r\n \t<li>identifying the wheel centre (F\/R)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nThe stickers also allow the cameras to measure rotation (steering rotation, wheel rotation) that is why FASEP NoContact can measure LIVE CASTER.\r\n\r\nThe REMO lasers, on the other side, are also needed to:\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li>find the wheel by scanning the external profile of the tire (here&#8217;s why REMO is much slower than NoContact)<\/li>\r\n \t<li>identify the wheel base (measuring distances)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\nHOWEVER Remo lasers do not work well in all conditions.\r\n\r\nREMO lasers actually work on the principle of distance measurement by triangulation.\r\nThis requires a perfect reflection of the laser light.\r\nHowever, laser light does not reflect perfectly on some surfaces.\r\n\r\n<em>Case 1<\/em>: we are reported to have measurement problems with polished rims and particularly with black rims.\r\nIn such cases, when a new circle appears on the market, a laser software tune-up is necessary in case of problems.\r\n\r\n<em>Case 2<\/em>: it has been reported that REMO requires updates when a new type of rim is introduced to the market.\r\nIt seems that the algorithm in Remo works by &#8220;recognising&#8221; the design \/ shape of the rim and creating a 3D model of the rim orientation (= wheel alignment angles).<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><b>LIVE MEASUREMENTS:<\/b>\r\nREMO lasers DO NOT MEASURE ROTATION (steering)\r\nThis is why REMO does not measure LIVE CASTER.<\/li>\r\n \t<li><b>MEASUREMENT TRACKING:<\/b>\r\nREMO ONLY automatically follows the lifter up and down if the alignment is done on a Corghi lifter, whereas the NoContact does the same with ANY LIFTER.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n&nbsp;<\/li>\r\n \t<li><strong>Which are the differences between ARGOS Cemb and NoContact?<\/strong>\r\n<ul>\r\n \t<li><strong>READING MEASUREMENTS:<\/strong>\r\nCEMB has a considerably lower reading accuracy: with the same fixed rear camera it has to frame a space ranging from the rear of a Smart car to the rear of a Ducato L4, i.e. at least 3-4 metres of framing.
